Aug 20, 2023Ahsoka Image Reveals Sabine's Customized Speeder Bike
New images of Ahsoka showcase Sabine Wren using a Speeder bike that’s been customized with her signature artistic flair.
A new still from Ahsoka debuts Sabine Wren's new mode of transformation that also carries her signature artistic style.
Per Entertainment Weekly, the image depicts Sabine, played in live-action by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, jetting along what appears to be one Lothal's highways. Wearing a helmet to cover to flowing orange hair, it's clear that the Mandalorian has given her Speeder bike a new coat of paint. Fans will recognize the vehicle has traditionally had brown colors on the central console and rear but Sabine's is colored purple and yellow, two colors that have become synonymous with the character.

Making her live-action debut in Ahsoka, Sabine Wren's first appearance was in the animated series Star Wars Rebels wherein she played an important role in the burgeoning Rebel Alliance and worked alongside Ahsoka on several missions. The ex-Jedi will seemingly reunite with her friend and ally as she seeks aid in her quest to prevent the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who is plotting to reform The Empire. As many fans are gearing up to see Sabine return, Bordizzo has cautioned devout Rebels enthusiasts that her portrayal may be different from what they expect.
"I loved Tiya Sircar's Sabine!... I loved the energy, sarcasm, and playfulness that really made Sabine... Sabine, but obviously, it's a delicate balance because I never want to try to copy someone," Bordizzo said. "I want to be inspired by the energy they put into the character and then make the role my own." To prepare for the role, the actor explained that she watched plenty of Rebels to really understand Sabine's motivations and mannerisms, which proved challenging to then translate into live-action. "You want to have space, take all the experiences and memories and inspirations from everything you've watched, and then let the live action you're creating find its own truth, its own journey," she explained.

As for other returning characters, fans can also anticipate seeing Ezra Bridger making an appearance, played by Eman Esfandi. Having disappeared alongside Thrawn in the Rebels series finale, speculation is running wild that the young Jedi will appear in Ahsoka as he aids in bringing down the Grand Admiral. The villain is another familiar face and will be played by Lars Mikkelsen, who also voiced the character in the animated series.
Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ on Aug. 23.
